International Sangha Directory
A community of Buddhist practitioners, a Sangha, can include both monastics and lay practitioners. Sangha is the third jewel of Buddhism: "I take refuge in the Buddha, the Dharma and the Sangha." Thich Nhat Hanh cautioned that without a Sangha one may lose their practice quickly.
In addition to the nine practice centers and monasteries established by Thich Nhat Hanh (http://plumvillage.org/monastic-practice-centres/), there are over one thousand lay sanghas and practice communities throughout the world.
We encourage everyone to join a Sangha near you, whether with Blooming Heart Sangha or elsewhere. Participating with a community of practitioners brings great benefit through the collective energy of mindfulness, peace and joy.

There are also a number of “online” sanghas. The Plumline website (www.plumline.org) is a support center for anyone wishing to find, establish, build, and maintain an online Sangha, and a place to share resources as online Sangha develops
